How do I clear my browser's cache?

Browsers store information about the sites you visit in cache. Over time, the stored data can cause sites to load slowly, display content incorrectly, or create login issues. Clearing your browser's cache can fix many of these issues.


Choose your browser:

Chrome

  1. In Chrome, open the Customize and control Google Chrome menu.
    Open the menu by selecting the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner. 
  2. Choose More tools in the list of options:
     Moore tools appears near the bottom of the menu screen. 
  3. Select Clear browsing data:
    You can also use "Ctrl + Shift + Del" on your keyboard to clear browsing data. 
  4. In the "Clear browsing data" window, choose a time range from the dropdown menu. It's recommended that you choose a time range of at least 24 hours. The range of options is from 'Last hour' to  'All time':
    The range of options is from the last hour to all time. 
  5. Choose the data that you would like to clear. Tick the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. Uncheck Browsing history if you wish. 
    To complete the action, you must select the clear data button in the bottom right-hand corner. 
  6. Within the same window, select Clear data to empty your cache. Depending how much data is stored in your cache, this process could take several seconds. Once complete, the "Clear browsing data" window will automatically close. You can close the Settings tab.

  1. In Firefox, open the browser Menu:
    The browser menu appears as three horizonal lines in the upper right-hand corner. 
  2. Select Options:
     Options appears near the bottom of the window. 
  3. In the left navigation, choose Privacy & Security: 
    Firefox Privacy & Security option 
  4. Scroll down to the "Cookies and Site Data" section. Select Clear Data:
    The Cookies and Site Data window also provides disk space used on your computer by stored cookies etc. 
  5. In the "Clear Data" window, we recommend leaving both boxes checked. Choose Clear.
    The Clear button is at the bottom right-hand of the screen. 
  6. A window will pop-up warning you that you are about to clear the data and may get signed out of websites. Select Clear Now to proceed. Depending how much data is stored in your cache, this process could take several seconds. Once complete, the "Clear Data" window will automatically close. Close the Options tab. 
    If you do not choose the Clear Now button, return to your original settings with "Cancel."

  1. In Edge, open the Settings and more menu: 
    Open the menu by selecting the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  2.  Select Settings in the list of options:
     Settings appears near the bottom of options. 
  3. In the left navigation, select Privacy, search, and services: 
    Edge Privacy, search, and services 
  4. Scroll down to the "Clear browsing data" section. Select Choose what to clear:
     The Choose what to clear button appears in the right-hand side of the window. 
  5. In the "Clear browsing data" window, choose a time range from the dropdown menu. It's recommended that you choose a time range of at least 24 hours
    The range of options is from the last hour to all time. 
  6. Choose the data that you would like to clear. Tick the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. You can uncheck Browsing history and Download history if you wish. 
    The Clear now button is at the bottom of the window. 
  7. Select Clear now to empty your cache. Depending how much data is stored in your cache, this process could take several seconds. Once complete, the "Clear browsing data" window will automatically close. You can close the Settings tab.





Safari


  1. In Safari, select Safari in the menu bar then choose Clear History:

  2. In the "Clear" dropdown, choose a time range. It's recommended that you choose a time range of at least "today." Once you set the time range, choose Clear History: 
    The range of options is from the last hour to all history..
